Obituary for Marion Irva McMullen (McLean)

Marion Irva McMullen (McLean)
October 13th, 1935 - April 23, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother Marion on April 23, 2023 in her 88th year after a fulfilling life. Sadly, we say goodbye to the matriarch of our family.
Marion is survived by her children Cheryl (Paul, deceased), David (Donna), Gary (Wendy), Steve (Marlene), Douglas, Darryl (Lory), Linda (Chris), her 19 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, her brother Marvin and sister Myrna. Dear friend to Cathy Kelsey. Predeceased by her mother Inez and sisters Mavis and Shirley.
Born in Nova Scotia, Marion moved to Ontario at the age of seventeen. She made the most of all the challenges in her life. Her biggest accomplishment was raising seven children, mostly on her own.
Despite the challenges she faced, Marion was devoted to serving her community and loved ones. Always offering a helping hand and putting others before herself. Anyone who knew Marion was touched by her gracious heart and willingness to help those in need. When Marion wasn't helping others, you could find her knitting while sipping tea, baking up a storm, rooting for the Jays or Leafs or dancing with her beloved partner Peter(deceased).

A memorial service will take place at Trillium United Church, 415 Linwell Rd, St Catharines on Saturday May 6, 2023 at 1:00pm. A reception with refreshments and light lunch will take place following the service in the Ruby Carroll room.
Prior to the memorial, a Oddfellow/Rebekah ceremony honouring Marion’s 57 dedicated years in the lodge, will start at 12:15 pm for those who would like to attend.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to PASSFIELD MORTUARY SERVICES. Marion will be laid to rest in a private family gathering in Maple Lawn Cemetery at a later time.

Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of your choice.
