Lois Eleanor May Brittain (nee Holland)
1930 to 2021

Passed away peacefully at home on May 1,2021. Predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Lloyd George Brittain.
She is lovingly remembered by her son Paul M. Brittain (Marianne) and daughter Janet L. Hansen; Grandchildren John L. Brittain (Megan), Laura J. Goddard and Sarah A. Brittain (Ian Dale) ; Greatgrandchildren Liam, Conner, Madelynn, Ruby Ann, Dane, Isaac,
and Rosalee. She is also survived by her sister and spouse, Joan Willis (Ralph), brother in law Frederick W. Smythe and sister in law Marilyn Smythe, many nieces, nephews, cousins and their extended families.
Lois was born in Quebec City on May 29, 1930 and moved to the Niagara Region in 1931 with her parents. Lois held many different secretarial positions which included lawyer's offices, the police station, the YMCA, and working for the Board of Education. She worked at Niagara District Secondary School and then later became the secretary for the Director of the Niagara District Board of Education. She took a school secretary position at Edith Cavell Public School before retiring. Lois was a positive, knowledgeable, creative person who touched many lives; an avid quilter, sewer, knitter, crocheter and gardener. She was a lover of children and people, a devoted wife, the best mother, grandbo, greatgrandbo, fantastic aunt and wonderful friend. Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid 19 restrictions a private committal service for immediate family will be held at a later date.
