Obituary for Lila Marie Bulpit (Pilkington)

Lila Marie (Dolly) Bulpit (nee Pilkington)

Early Sunday morning June 4, 2023 “The Angel Lady” was given her wings along with the ultimate gift of everlasting peace and tranquility in the House of the Lord. After courageously battling and surviving Breast Cancer once, she was then faced with a second encounter in the form of metastatic Breast Cancer. She endured this journey with quiet courage, grace, and dignity. We would like to give thanks to all the caring doctors, nurses, custodians, and the many volunteers who give their all to make the patients and caregivers who come through the doors of the Walker Family Cancer Centre feel so important. Dolly became known as “The Angel Lady” through her angel creations, especially her hand crafted angel pins, that she would share with friends and strangers alike to remind them that everyone has a guardian angel.

Dolly and her loving husband Gibb would have celebrated 60 years of marriage June 21, 2023. They were avid travelers and enjoyed many trips around the globe - including Alaska, Hawaii, England, and Bermuda just to mention a few.

She was born April 15,1938 to the late Edith Alice and George H. Pilkington.
She is survived by her brother George Pilkington; step-daughter Bonita and her husband Rick Haggart; step-daughter Dian Congdon and her husband Marty.
Step-grandchildren - Lee Haggart (Nicole), Mya Murray; Barbara Wagenaar (Dave); Eden, Michael, Ian, Jacob; Michael Congdon, Deborah Eckland (Johathan); Patrick, Caitlan, Abby.

Dolly is also survived by several great-grandchildren along with many nieces & nephews.

Pre-deceased by brothers Harold and Cyril, sister Ella Hamilton and brother-in-law Arnold Hamilton, sister June Gunn and brother-in-law William Gunn, and sister-in-law Julia Pilkington.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre, the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, or to a charity of your choosing in honour of Lila Marie (Dolly) Bulpit.
