Obituary for Kellen Hae-Kyung Cho

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kellen Hae-Kyung Cho on February 29, 2024. With her family by her side, her gentle soul was released, leaving her physical body to rest in peace. Kellen was fortunate to have found the love of her life, Paul Bona, in high school. In 2001, they welcomed a new type of love, their son Jacob Bona. Whenever Jacob was present, Kellen's eyes would shine a little brighter. They were family and best friends.

Kellen will be sorrowfully missed by her mother, Heung Ok Cho (predeceased by her father, Young-Ku "Sam" Cho). Kellen was the eldest of three girls. She was adored by her sisters, Julen and her spouse Harry Hong, Helen and her spouse Peter Szostak. She loved and was loved as Emo Kellen by Emma & Madeleine Hong. The family loved to travel together. In 2023, they visited both Mexico and Jamaica, and those wonderful memories will be treasured for a lifetime. Kellen enjoyed spending time with her extended family, Paul's mother, Wendy, and her husband Rocco Mascioli, Paul's sister Victoria and her spouse Kevin Saunders. Stephen and Danielle and their families will cherish many great memories of their aunt.

To know Kellen was to love her. All her life, wherever she was, she brought the beauty of her smile to all. Kellen had the brightest smile when she was around her loved ones, laughing and simply enjoying each other's company. Kellen enjoyed a long career at Robert K. Welsh Courthouse, where she formed many great relationships. Kellen will be noticeably absent in the lives of all who knew her and loved her.

Cremation has taken place, and a private interment will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery in St. Catharines.

Please join the family to celebrate Kellen's Life on Sunday, March 17th, from 1-4. Friends and family will gather in the Starlight Room of Club Roma, 125 Vansickle Road, St. Catharines, warm food, and cold beverages will be served.

Life is not forever – thankfully, Love is.
