Obituary for Glenvile Wellington Sawyers

Glenn passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on November 28, 2022 of complications from Parkinson’s and Multiple System Atrophy in his 87th year. Pre deceased by his first wife Meribell (Hoffman) 2004 and daughter Susan, 2007. He leaves behind his loving wife Margaret (Rees), sons Steve Sawyers (Ann) of Picton, Ontario, Jeffrey Sawyers of Cold Lake, Alberta, Stepsons Chris Rees (Laura) of Fort McMurray, Alberta and Mark Rees (2020). Loving grandfather to Darren Sawyers (Kendra) of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Tyler Sawyers (Stephanie) of Ottawa, Ontario . Andrea Sawyers (Dallas) and Beka Sawyers of Cold Lake Alberta. Andrew, Thomas, Matthew and Ethan Rees of Fort McMurray Albera and Ben & Allyson Rees of St. Catharines. He was also a proud Great Grandfather of Millie & Owen, Ella & Andrew, Avery & Aiden.
Born May 23, 1936 outside of Collingwood, Ontario, to Wally & Marie Sawyers. In his TD banking career, Glenn lived in various communities in Ontario, before being transferred to Cold Lake, Alberta, and lived in many communities in Alberta before retiring in Calgary. After retirement, Glenn and Meribell moved back to St. Catharines. Glenn was a proud member of Niagara #2 lodge and Niagara Falls Shrine, having made many friends and acquaintances along the way.

As per Glenn’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to PASSFIELD MORTUARY SERVICES INC. (905) 682 0474. A private family graveside service will be held at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens on Friday December 9th, 2022. In memory of Glenn and in lieu of flowers, donations to Operation Smile, Shriners Children’s Hospitals, St. Georges Anglican Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by his family.
