It is with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Ellen Mildred Morningstar at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital on November 3rd 2022 in her 77th year surrounded by her devoted family.
Loving wife of the late Jim Morningstar. Cherished Mother of Larry (Donna) Orth, Dave Orth, Michelle (Jimmy) D'Amelio. She is survived by her grandchildren Hailey, Jacob, Madison, Mackenzie, Teagan, Nathan and sister of Charles Hanman (Barb).
Ellen came to Ontario from Brookfield, Nova Scotia at 17 years of age. She graduated from Merritton Highschool. She was employed at Ontario Paper in the Human Resources department until she retired in the year 2000.
Ellen loved to spend time gardening, knitting and baking. The thing that made her the happiest was spending time with her grandchildren. She was also a member of the Rebecca's Assembly of Ontario (Niagara Chapter).
Ellen was the most loving and generous person. She was loved by everyone who knew her. The biggest thing she enjoyed was gathering her family for Sunday night Roast beef dinner and celebrating all the holidays together. She would also extend the invitation to friends outside the family to join, as she wanted everyone to feel included. As per Ellen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to PASSFIELD MORTUARY SERVICES INC. (905) 682 0474. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care provided to Ellen during her time there.
If desired, donations made to Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation or Sick Kids Foundation would be appreciated by her family.
