It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Elizabeth Marion Carrigan (Mary) peacefully in the arms of her daughters and granddaughter Theresa. On Friday, July 29th in her 90th year. She is survived by her loving daughters Sue Marczi (of Bancroft), Judy Carrigan (Mary) and Jenny Carrigan. Son-in-law Mike Miller, sister Grace Camche (Bill), brother Bill Gaal and brother-in-law Ed Pearce. Loving grandchildren Michael Miller (Brittney),Theresa Andrews (John), Andrew Miller (Sarah), Stephanie Carrigan (Jay), Billy Carrigan (Olivia), Rachel Carrigan (Scott), David Carrigan and Bobby Alkerton (Tara). Also survived by 23 great grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews. Predeceased by her Husband Charles, Daughter Darlene Durham, Son Charles Jr. son-in-law Joseph Marczi, granddaughter Carrie-Lee Marczi, grandson Steve Andrews and parents Joseph and Margaret Gaal, siblings Joseph, Bella, Helen, and Nancy. Elizabeth was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Welland. She was an active member of the Welland Lioness Club. In her younger years she was employed at The Cotton Mill as a weaver, The Atlas Hotel where (Mary) made her mark as an amazing chef and baker. She was then employed alongside her husband Charles at Lookout Point Golf and Country Club. Then N-Tec where she taught young adults with special needs until retirement. She continued to donate her beautifully decorated homemade hungarian tortes to the church for two lucky families to enjoy with sunday dinner. Cremation has taken place with Passfield Mortuary Services Inc. St Catharines Ontario. The celebration of life will be held on October 1st, 2022 at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Church in Welland. The family of Elizabeth would like to express their heartfelt thanks to a very special young woman Rene Biggar whose tender care, love and humour made the last months of her life wonderful (Elizabeth loved her very much). A special thank you to her palliative care nurse Kim for such excellent care and compassion. Donations may be made to Holy Trinity Church, Division St. Welland in memory of Elizabeth.
