Obituary for Barbara Marriott (Hart)
Passed away peacefully after a brief illness at St. Catharines General on January 29, 2022 at the age of 68.
Barb will be incredibly missed by her loving husband Lee, her children Andrea (Will) and David, her brothers Joe (Darlene) and Ross, and the many members of the Marriott, Hart, Conklin and Unrau extended families who loved her. She joins her parents Barbara Jean and Harold.
A Niagara girl with close connections around Canada and the world, Barb was known for her beautiful singing voice, her vibrant wit and impeccable joke delivery, and her quiet ability to trounce the entire pub on quiz night. Everyone in her life depended on her smarts and organizational skills; history books will note that she was the last person to remember hundreds of phone numbers and birthdays the old-fashioned way.
Barb was truly compassionate and fair-minded; she listened and remembered your story whether you were family, friend, co-worker or the recipient of a speeding ticket or jury notice. She’ll be remembered as a loving mom, an incredible friend and Euchre partner, and a bright light in the lives of all who knew her.
As per Barb’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice in Barb’s honour.
A Celebration of Barb's life will be held on Sunday June 19 at Monty's Gastropub, 547 Ontario St, St Catharines. Drop in between 2 and 4pm to celebrate Barb.
